Housing for Domestic Violence Survivors in Clackamas County

Document Actions

An emerging cluster of institutions in Clackamas County is researching the lack of services for domestic violence survivors in their communities. Clackamas Women’s Services, an organization currently working hard to serve the needs of survivors, is only able to help approximately 500 of the more than 3,000 people who call the organization each year. Many of the pastors in Clackamas County are frustrated by their inability to refer people to services who want to change their lives.

Leaders from congregations, unions and community groups are meeting regularly to strategize and act on this issue by focusing on the shortage of adequate housing for women and children who have left abusive situations. If you are interested in learning how your organization can get involved, please contact Tom Rinehart at tom@macg.org
