Phoenix Rising Transitions

Phoenix Rising Transitions has an exciting opportunity to further enhance their training program for Prison Leadership. As we continue our mission to empower incarcerated individuals to become leaders within and beyond the prison walls, we recognize the need to refresh our training approach and expand our core team.

To provide a brief overview, we are looking to revitalize our training program by bringing in new perspectives and expertise. Our goal is to ensure that our participants receive the most comprehensive and impactful training possible, equipping them with the skills they need to inspire positive change within the prison community.

Wrestling Planning Meeting at Havurah Shalom

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend our in-person Wrestling with the Truth of Colonization meeting at Havurah Shalom. MACG would like to thank Rabbi Benjamin for hosting the event and allowing us to use this sacred space for planning and reflection. We also thank Rabbi Benjamin for opening the meeting with the use of instrument and song. This added to the richness of culture and feeling welcomed by Havurah’s traditions. Solveig brought us “7 Principles for Awakening Leadership” based on EcoFaith Reccovery’s practices.

Public Comment Action and Workshop

MACG invites you to join the St Anthony Women's Justice Circle in an upcoming opportunity to take collective action on mental health. The Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists are requesting public comment on the proposed reduction to the licensed professional counselors (LPC) and licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT) supervised clinical experience requirements for licensure. These changes would help many to become licensed more quickly in Oregon and grow the pool of mental health professionals that can meet the growing demand for mental health treatment. In particular, this change could also increase the number of providers from diverse backgrounds.

Join us Monday, January 23rd at 7 PM for an online, bilingual (Spanish/English) workshop where we will...
  • learn more about this proposal
  • Share a template and example public comment
  • Write and submit our public comments TOGETHER as a community.
  • Discuss how this action is part of a larger campaign we're building

RSVP
here. The zoom details are below. Please pass this open invitation along to everyone in your networks who might be interested in improving access to mental health. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
