In 2012, MACG started a new initiative to support leadership development of our Latino leaders.
Since that time, we’ve worked with many Latino leaders in member and prospective member institutions. Over 250 new leaders have received Leadership training in Spanish, to date, and are putting into practice the skills they’ve learned in their churches, schools, and communities.Read more
In 2015, responding to the overwhelming housing concerns of our members, MACG led a successful campaign to increase funding for affordable housing in Portland by 67 million dollars. MACG turned out an increasing number of people (over400 total) to five public hearings and city council meetings, plus a MACG press conference, each time testifying and bringing personal stories of housing hardships to the attention of decision-makers.Read more
