67 Latino Leaders Trained!

IMG_0196_(2).jpg  Leadership training en Espanol!

MACG is proud to have hosted a two-day leadership training in Spanish on April 6 and 7

The Welcoming the Stranger training was made possible by a generous grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to the IAF West/Southwest who sent four bi-lingual trainers to the training in Hillsboro.  MACG was selected as one of twelve sites to receive this training and others that will follow over the next two years.

CCHD is the national anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Bishops, and the grant represents a strong investment in developing leadership among Latino leaders. The 67 Latino      leaders came from ten Catholic parishes in the Portland metro area - seven from Washington County.  They learned leadership skills to strengthen their own parishes and to work        for the common good in their communities.  One parish has already committed to join MACG in July.

We're looking for others to follow!
