Surfacing and developing new leaders is primary to MACG's mission.

On February 15, leaders from six MACG member organizations and one prospective member organization braved the slushy roads to gather at our kickoff listening event at the SMART Local 16 Union Hall. 20 leaders gathered, five of whom had never been to a MACG event before. Participants engaged in 1-1s and table talks where they shared stories about the pressures impacting them and their loved ones. 

When participants were asked how hearing each other's stories impacted them some of the feelings shared were:

• Empowered
• Angry
• Connected

Leaders, new and seasoned, left the event energized to do more 1-1s, host more of these events, get more training, and engage more deeply in relational organizing.
