Former MACG Lead Organizer Dick Harmon's memorial service will be June 8.

Richard “Dick” Harmon, a beloved figure in the community organizing world, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2024, at the age of 87.

Beginning in 1993, Dick was the lead organizer of the Portland Organizing Project (POP) and was a pivotal part of the founding of MACG in 2002.  He then worked as MACG's lead organizer until 2010.

His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the dignity of all people helped transform MACG into a powerful organization of faith communities, labor unions, and grassroots organizations, leaving an indelible mark on the community and inspiring countless leaders and organizers across the Northwest and beyond."
