Know Your Rights training in Beaverton focused on the Latino immigrant community.

 

 

 

MACG joined with SOAR Immigration Legal Services and Adelante Mujeres in a Know Your Rights training in Beaverton focused on the Latino immigrant community. Seventy-five people mostly from Washington County attended.  Over sixty Latinos came to learn their rights.

Twelve people, many from MACG member institution St. Andrew Lutheran Church, came to pose as ICE agents in role plays so the Latinos could practice asserting their rights if confronted in their homes, workplaces, or if stopped while driving.  When asked why she came to pose as an ICE agent,  one participant said "to show them we DO care."
