MACG STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR AAPI COMMUNITIES

MACG stands in solidarity with our Asian and Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) members and communities as we witness a new and brutal wave of anti-AAPI racism and xenophobia.

There has been an alarming 150 percent increase in reported violence and harassment against members of AAPI communities since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (Stop AAPI Hate) including the recent surge of violent attacks on community elders and others across the nation, and the horrific shootings in Atlanta. The majority of these incidents have targeted AAPI women.

We commit to redouble our efforts to push ourselves and our community leaders to take steps to stop hateful rhetoric, intimidation, threats and violence directed at AAPI individuals, businesses and organizations.

As we continue to organize together for a more just and equitable world, we once again call on our members, partners and leaders, to hold us accountable in our commitment to strengthen and grow as an antiracist-practicing organization focused on building a thriving community for the common good.
